Description Cladding on a building requires that the external wall be held away from the building structure thus creating a void. Whilst allowing for ventilation and moisture dissipation, the void also produces problems in terms of fire protection, as it acts as an open chimney allowing fire to spread both vertically and horizontally around the building. To combat this the Astroflame fire rated cladding seal ( ASTRO CLAD) has been developed to solve this problem. ASTRO Clad will create a fire barrier within the cladding preventing or delaying the spread of fire in both vertical and horizontal applications for up to 120minutes rating. The product has been tested in the most onerous combustible cladding designs and still maintains the open cavity. East to fit designs are available to either be tracked or friction fitted into existing cavities, retro fitting into existing cavities is possible. Standard seals sizes available to suit typical cavities of 20 to 50mm wide and special seals can be produced for cavities up to 125mm wide. Tested in both combustible timber frame and non combustible constructions unlike other fire barrier products. Astro Clad: a self adhesive backed high expansion intumescent strip in 1 metre lengths suitable for cavities which can be used both horizontally and vertically. The strip is finished with an aluminium foil coating which offers excellent weather protection and adds both to the rapidity of seal activation and char durability. AFFRCLAD Suitable for cavities up to 25mm Provides up to 80% open area 35mmx4mmx1000mm AFFRCLAD75 Suitable for cavities up to 50 mm Provides up to 85% open area 75mmx6mmx1000mm   An intumescent fire barrier seal which is shrink wrapped in Red PVC for added weather protection. The seal is fully intumescent and provides a highly solid and stable char in a fire situation. AFFRCLAD50 Suitable for cavities up to 125mm provides up to 60% open area 50mmx50mmx1000mm   Astro Clad CF Drainage Seal: a compression fitted drainage seal designed 30 x 25mm and 1 metre in length for applications requiring a cavity of 20-50mm width, when water drainage and ventilation is required. The standard compression seal is a spongy strip 25 x 25mm and has a polycarbonated honeycomb strip along one edge providing the equivalent of approximately 5mm wide free area giving a total width of approximately 30mm.
