Description Intumescent paint for bare or previously painted timber and timber derivative surfaces where surface spread of flame or fire propagation need to be controlled. The paint contains intumescent compounds, intumescent paint resin binders and high opacity pigments. When exposed to fire the paint expands to create a fire protective barrier, insulating the timber surfaces from heat and oxygen.   Availability ASTRO ITC Paint is available in 5 kilo and 20 kilo containers It can be overcoated with our flame retardant paint - available in BS4800, RAL  and metallic colours and a range of finishes. Prior to application the contractor should contact the Astroflame Technical Department (see above) to obtain a basecoat application schedule.   Fire Tests Certificate of Supply upon request for each project for Insurance, Fire and Building Control Authority and Client Records.         Application For Class 1 and Class 0 apply 2 coats of ASTRO ITC by brush or roller or spray at 7 m sq per litre per coat Health and Safety Observe all normal health and safety precautions for painting including ventilation, hygiene and masks and protective clothing as appropriate.   As part of our policy of ongoing improvements, we reserve the right to modify, alter or change product specifications without giving notice.
