Description
Fire rated pipe wraps are manufuacrured from flexible strips of high performance intumescent material encapsulated in a polythene sleeve.
Designed for wrapping around plastic pipes that pass through masonry floors and walls on exposure to fire the pipe wrap expands rapidly inwards to squeeze the collapsing plastic pipe until the aperture is completely sealed.
Astroflame Intumescent Pipe Wraps are economical, easy to fit and are unaffected by moisture, humidity or frost, but care should be taken so as to avoid damaging the outer polythene sleeve.
The wraps have been independently tested in accordance with BS476: Part 20: 1987 and can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance.
Also tested to EN1366-3 and NHBC Type Approval.
Availability
Astroflame Pipe Wraps come available in many standard sizes to suit eg. 55, 82, 110, and 160mm diameter pipes with up to 4 hour rating and 200mm with 2 hour rating.

The product does not present any known health hazards during or after installation. Normal good industrial and personal hygiene practices should be observed.
Installation
Manufactured to the correct length, the wrap should be tightly wrapped around the pipe and secured in position using the tabs located at the edge of the wrap. Push the wrap into the void so that the edge is flush with the floor or wall, it is important for the proper functioning of the wrap that the edge is exposed to view. The wrap can be sealed in position using Astroflame Fire Resistant Mortar.
