Description Flexible strips of high performance intumescent material encapsulated in a polythene sleeve - designed for wrapping around plastic pipes that pass through masonry floors and walls. on exposure to fire the wrap expands rapidly inwards to squeeze the collapsing plastic pipe until the aperture is completely sealed. The wraps have been independently tested in accordance with BS476: Part 20: 1987 and can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance. Also tested to EN1366-3, LANTAC Building Control Approval and NHBC Type Approval.
Astroflame Intumescent Pipe Wraps are economical, easy to fit and are unaffected by moisture, humidity or frost, but care should be taken so as to avoid damaging the outer polythene sleeve.

Health and Safety The product does not present any known health hazards during or after installation. Normal good industrial and personal hygiene practices should be observed. Installation Manufactured to the correct length, the wrap should be tightly wrapped around the pipe and secured in position using the tabs located at the edge of the wrap. Push the wrap into the void so that the edge is flush with the floor or wall, it is important for the proper functioning of the wrap that the edge is exposed to view. The wrap can be sealed in position using Astroflame Fire Resistant Mortar.
