7. STORAGE AND HANDLING

7.1 STORAGE.

Both machined and un-machined items should be packed to prevent movement, abrasion during movement and absorption of water. Otherwise normal safe precaution for handling can be employed. To avoid damage and distortion, store on a smooth level foundation.

7.2 RECOMMENDED SHELF LIFE.

Mineral fibre products are chemically stable and their life is no hazard under normal storage conditions

11.2 CHRONIC EFFECTS

Experiences in human studies: large morbidity and mortality studies of both European and North American mineral wool (rock stone) manufacturing workers have been conducted with the traditional mineral wools. The studies have found no significant evidence of non-malignant lung disease (e.g. Fibrosis). The exonerated mineral wool has not been subject to epidemiological studies but consists of the less bio persistent fibres, which will disappear even faster from the lung than the rock (stone) wool fibres.
